These heat pads are flexible heat pads and are hand-made and manufactured from polyurethane to give water resistant properties combined with durability & flexibility. A protective steel cord cover of 400mm in length is added to the lead to prevent the animal chewing the lead. 

The heat pads are specifically designed to provide bottom heat for the purpose of pet care, sick and old animals and whelping use. 

The surface of the heat pads will give approximately 12°C rise above the ambient temperature. The temperature of the heat pad will rise and fall with the ambient (air) temperature. 

Directions for Use:

1. Place the heat pad on a heat-resistant surface. If using on a concrete surface use polystyrene or similar as insulation underneath the heat pad. This will prevent unnecessary heat loss. 

2. Your pet may be placed directly onto the heat pad. No need for cushioning. A pillow slip or newspaper may be used.

3. Do not wrap or place insulating material, blankets, pillows or doonas on top or around the heat pad. The heat produced by the heat pad must be able to radiate away.

4. Plug the lead into a power point. 

Information:

·       Allow room for sick animals to move off the pad to a cooler area.

·       Do not leave sick animals unattended on the heat pad.

·       The Heat pad may feel cool to touch, this is normal. When the pet lies on the pad, a thermal mass is created and heat will transfer quickly to the animal.

Care:

·       Do not immerse in water.

·       To clean spillage off your heat pad, disconnect power supply and wipe dry. Allow to dry completely.

·       The heat pad should not be in contact with any other object like bedding, blankets, pillows etc.

·       Do not tamper with or alter this heat pad or electrical lead in any way.

·       Do not use if damaged

Place a single layer similar to a pillow slip over the heater pad when operating.

Never place the heater UNDER foam cushions or thick bedding, ie vet bed.
